Yes! Very very frightening...
Where we lived in Fairfax County, VA this was already the norm. 7 year old's in kindergarten, who could already do multiplication complaining "I'm so bored . . . I'm not be-ing chal-lenged . . . " There was a ten year old in my son's third grade class who told him there was no Santa Claus, developed breasts and got her period during class. She wasn't "gifted" -- she was just really, really old!!!!
